Design Capability

The design team of ESJV (Eaton-SAMC joint venture) was one of the teams that was formed at the beginning of the joint venture established. As a joint venture between SAMC and Eaton, Based on Eaton’s rich experience and products in the aviation field, ESJV had built a highly professional design team with its own characteristics through training and coaching from Eaton. After 10 years of development, ESJV already has the capability to conduct the design and development of conveyance systems independently. During the past ten years, ESJV has completed the design, qualification and airworthiness certification work for COMAC C919 FICS and HCS conveyance system; C909 fuel Flammability Reducing Conveyance System; AVIC AG300 aircraft conveyance system (HCS, FICS, Lubricating oil, anti-icing, ECS). The design team is a professional team with young and energetic people, and the design team has the capability of FEA analysis and certification support. In order to provide the professional, reliable and safe conveyance design solutions and certification support for China civil aviation industry, ESJV work process was designed and developed in strict accordance with the AS9100 certification system.

System Integration
Design or select the most suitable conveyance products to meet customer needs. Using the methods of analysis and qualification test to ensure that the conveyance system and the components meet the requirement of function, weight, environment and the latest airworthiness regulations.

Design for Manufacture and Installation
The manufacturability, installability and maintainability was considered at the beginning of product design. Complete the integration process of design and manufacturing through the 3D digital model, seamlessly connect the design information to the manufacturing process, improve the accuracy of manufacturing, and meet the needs of rapid changes in the manufacturing process.
Analysis of tubing installation was done at system level, and the installation environment on the aircraft was simulated to ensure the convenience of installation and maintenance. In the installation of C919 AC101, there were more than 1,500 hydraulic and fuel tubes delivered by ESJV, and we achieved that the first pass yield rate of the installation is 99%.

Stress Analysis
Engineering-oriented simulation technology applied in project, Finite Element Analysis incorporated hundreds of flight load cases to meet Aerospace Conveyance System requirements. Optimized solution provided in multiple design stages, advanced methodology and secondary development customized and standardized the analysis process, agile iteration shortened the period of products development, achieved a qualitative leap in conveyance system design.

Requirement Management
Eaton-SAMC uses the traceability of DOORS system to break down the top-level requirement to subsystem or component. Create the linkage between the top-level requirement and component requirement. Not only traceability, maturity, break down status of each requirement was managed but also the risks were identified. The linkage between different level of requirement was managed to make sure the accuracy of whole design procedure and the compliance to airworthiness.
